The Louella W. Norfleet Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc., offers financial help to students across the country, especially first-generation college-bound students. High school seniors are encouraged to apply for the school’s annual scholarships. Students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher can apply for one of four scholarships. Applications are accepted on the website through May 2.

The Foundation for the Advancement of Music and Education encourages you to visit FAMEmusic.org to register for FAME’s summer music programs July 6th through 10th at the University of Maryland School of Music in College Park and July 13 through 17th at Harmony Hall Arts Center in Fort Washington. All sessions are held Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4:30 pm and are designed for middle and high school students interested in exploring music as a creative and technical discipline. In addition, middle and high school students in the DMV can apply to the Fame Jazz Band Program, designed to strengthen musicianship and academic achievement.
